Reinstate maternity and paediatric wards to the Alexandra Hospital, Redditch

Rejected 10 signatures

What the petition asks

In the last seven years, expectant mothers from Redditch and the surrounding areas have been forced to travel to Worcester for antenatal appointments and to give birth, including those with a complicated pregnancy and labour. This was only supposed to be a 'temporary' measure
Make the WAHT return these services to the Alexandra Hospital which they promised this was a temporary measure and have gone back on their word. The lives of women and their unborn babies are at risk and are more important than saving money. The Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Worcester is struggling to cope with the burden of an entire county

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Decisions about local NHS services are a matter for the relevant NHS Trust and clinical commissioning groups (CCGs), not the UK Government or Parliament.
