Mandatory carbohydrate information on all menus for those with type 1/2 diabetes
Closed
30 signatures
What the petition asks
Make carbohydrate information mandatory on ALL foods and food establishments including restaurants, takeaways etc to assist those with type 1/2 diabetes. Food allergy info is mandatory to prevent fatalities and so should carb information to enable diabetics to administer correct insulin amount.
Carb info will enable better glucose control, save lives and take pressure off NHS. Information is available for vegetarians, vegans (lifestyle choices) and gluten/nut etc allergy so diabetics should have the same information for equality and inclusion. Diabetics shouldn’t have to gamble with their health/lives due to lack of nutritional carbohydrate information. Lack of carb info can lead to wrong amount of insulin being administered which can be fatal.
