What the petition asks
Ban all websites and social media accounts that contain pornographic material. Bring in legislation that forces social media platforms to remove pornographic material from platforms. Companies and individuals that host webpages and accounts that display pornographic material should face prosecution.
Pornography can promote unsafe sexual practices, lead to gender stereotyping, and has been linked to increased sexual violence. It can also increase the risk of erectile dysfunction in males from younger ages.
Pornography should not be accessible, especially to children. At the moment any child can easily access or be exposed to pornography.
Pornography does not promote healthy relationships, which can affect mental health and encourage unsafe sexual practices.
Porn has also played a big role in the trafficking of human-beings.
