Make vehicle/tool theft specific offences with increased sentences

What the petition asks
We want the Government to make vehicle/tool theft specific offences, with increased minimum and maximum sentences for those convicted of these offences.
A recent video published by On The Tools interviewed a self-professed thief: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrZsIWlj7lc
During this interview he said that the only one thing that would stop vehicle tool theft was an increase in punishment. He described tool theft as high reward, low risk. And that the current vehicle safety measures were good, with cages been particularly difficult, but the deterrent was simply not there.
Tougher sentences should act as this deterrent, and hopefully save the financial heartache of the hard working tradespeople targeted by this crime.
