What the petition asks
The Government should extend the help to buy equity loan practical completion deadline for those who already have a help to buy equity loan approved and are now negatively affected by delays to the building of their new homes. People are now unable to proceed with the planned purchase of their home.
The Government must extend this deadline because many people have reserved their new build homes for months, and years, and are now unable to go through with the purchase due to delays outside of their control.
People have mortgages approved and equity loans secured, but due to global delays affecting the build of new homes, buyers are now negatively affected by the practical completion date of 31/12/2022 and are missing out on the chance of buying their first home through no fault of their own.
