What the petition asks
We want the Government to make bullying a specific criminal offence. We believe that bullying has reached epidemic proportions, and too many children no longer feel safe in school or outside it. Some are frightened to leave their home.
Bullying can have catastrophic effects on children, and lead to trauma, depression and anxiety.
Too many children are being bullied on a daily basis, and we believe not enough is being done to prevent this.
Making bullying a specific criminal offence should mean it is taken more seriously by schools and the police, so that this unacceptable behaviour can be stopped.
