Recognise SPD (Sensory Processing Disorder) and give it a stand alone diagnosis!

What the petition asks
I want the government to recognise SPD and allow the NHS to acknowledge SPD! Allow it to have a stand alone diagnosis, to offer support (emotionally, physically and financially) once diagnosis has been given.
Many children, like my own son, are going through referrals, OT appointments and aren't getting the diagnosis they want or are getting misdiagnosed because the professionals are aware of Sensory Processing Disorder but the currently only connect it to another diagnosis as its currently not a stand alone diagnosis in the UK!! These children deserve a true diagnosis, as do their parents and their teachers!!
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The Government aren't responsible for recognising specific conditions. This is a matter for the NHS and clinicians.
