What the petition asks
With the current and ongoing financial crisis reaching all sections of society and especially low and middle income people and people with physical and mental conditions, it seems an insult to use public finances to pay for such trivial events.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.
