rogue traders stealing money, police say its a civil matter.

What the petition asks
Make it a criminal matter and not a civil matter as this would mean we could get our money back and stop people getting ripped off and lost in incorrect labelling of what is actually stealing by deception
It needs to be regraded as a criminal offence with consequences. If it is not then people will continue to have tbier money stolen, thier homes ruined and these rogue traders will continue to trade and steal. The law must be on the consumers side to protect us, not on the side of the thief
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Theft by deception is already a criminal offence. Decisions on prosecutions are a matter for the police and courts.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
