What the petition asks
Introduce a change to enable everyone to have the same entitlement at 60 as Londoners and residents in Scotland and Wales currently benefit from. It is inequitable and discriminatory that we are treated differently and have to wait until state pension age, which is constantly under review.
Stop treating residents of England differently from the rest of UK. We pay the same taxes and NI contributions as everyone else. England is not just London! People in London , Scotland and Wales that I have spoken to are all very surprised and mostly unaware of this injustice.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We understand you'd like to equalise free transport in England with those in London, Scotland and Wales; however, free train travel is not available in Scotland and Wales in this way.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
