Remove Companies House Fines for Hospitality companies in COVID forced closure.

Rejected 14 signatures

What the petition asks

Hospitality companies are being fined thousands for late accounts when all our suppliers and clients were forced to close for circa 2 years. This unfair and contesting them is being rejected. These should be removed for the same 2 year period Government closed our sector.
Remove all unfair fines immediately for our badly damaged sector. We have closed our businesses, fought through, lost thousands and now getting fined. It is just unacceptable. These fines need removing ASAP to support our industry as was the rhetoric at the time.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. This is an operational decision for Companies House.

We could accept a petition calling for changes to filing rules for company accounts, if that's something you'd like to see happen.
