Reform the House of Lords into an elected Chamber.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Let the people choose a Lord or Lady to represent them. Allow the top five faiths appoint one Lord or Lady Spiritual to represent that faith within the House of Lords.
The House of Lords must be representative if it is to function within our parliamentary system.

Appointments to the House of Lords must cease to be treated as a reward by parliamentary parties.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We understand you'd like to make the Lords an elected chamber, but we're not sure from your petition as written how you'd like elections to work and who would be eligible.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
