What the petition asks
We ask the Government to ensure that public sector workers receive an annual pay rise inline with whichever is the highest:
- the highest increase in any MPs salary
- the highest increase in any MPs allowances
- inflation, as measured by Consumer Prices Index in September of the previous year

Public sector workers provide invaluable services. They teach our children, look after us when we're sick, get us to work, and protect us during emergencies. Their importance should be reflected in a dignified pay with guaranteed annual increases.
Like many people in the country, public sector workers are facing exorbitant rises to the cost of living, while MPs have enjoyed pay rises and handouts from the taxpayer in the form of allowances.
