What the petition asks
To ensure the provision of out of hours medical help is available to all in need. Where necessary to review entire operation and guarantee that an adequate response will be given with an agreed timescale. There should be no timed cut-off on calls. No one should have to hold for 9+ hour before answer
It has taken 9.5hrs on hold to 111 to get a reply and now 11 hours later still waiting for a callback. 111 Online gave wrong and misleading information, the system is broken. No one wants to call 999 when not essential but failure in the 111 system is driving people that way.
Meanwhile, privately commissioned companies are being given lucrative contracts but not fulfilling their obligations to the British public - we are being left high and dry, its very distressing & worrying when you need help.
