What the petition asks
Allow the Scottish electorate to decided whether or not it wasn't to remain apart of a hereditary monarchy or become a republic
There is great division between Scotland and the rest of the United Kingdom, despite Scotland winning a mandate for independence it's voice has been ignored by no10 and the high courts ruling.
Recognise that Scots should be given a choice whether they want to remain apart of a hereditary monarchy or move forward as a republic.

Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
His Majesty King Charles is the monarch of the United Kingdom, and it is not clear how Scotland could become a republic unless it first became an independent nation.
