What the petition asks
At the current time by companies house own admission they take a person data on face value and no checks are carried out as to an individual registering a company. This allows for individuals to open business's using fraudulent information, address to open fraudulent business's
The government to pass a law that requires companies house to check the registration of business's to ensure that the business registered is a legitimate individual and business stop individuals from fraudulently using address's, peoples data to register companies.
Why it was rejected
The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.
There is already legislation going through the Commons (the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Bill) that would introduce compulsory identify verification for company directors and some shareholders.
