Limit second jobs for Members of Parliament
Rejected
12 signatures
What the petition asks
Increase the tax rate on MPs to 100% for any income in addition to their salary as a parliamentarian over the median national income. We expect our elected representatives to work for the money they are paid by the public, not for external interests.
Right now there is a very clear conflict of interest, namely that MPs are free to use their positions to receive funding far in excess of their salaries. If we want to ensure that public money is being well-spent, then we should stop our MPs from earning considerably more from "second" jobs than they do from actually being an MP.
