What the petition asks
Reverse the ban of legal right of wild camping in Dartmoor, in areas without the landowners permission
Camping is a form of recreation, and a reversal of a decades old tradition due to this not being recognised is unjust to the people who want to use Dartmoor for this purpose.
Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for. Decisions about legal cases referred to the courts are a matter for judiciary, not the UK Government or Parliament.
