Amend the law to stop lawyers unfairly challenging illegal immigrant deportation

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

There is a petition in force called "Take action to prevent illegal attempts to enter UK across the Channel (1)" that is welcome. However, we are still signatories to the 1951 Geneva Convention on Refugees & it is grossly open to abuse by lawyers. We need to withdraw from it.
The 1951 convention was set up because of atrocities perpetrated by Nazi Germany. It is unfit for current illegal immigrants. We also need to change the law so lawyers can't challenge illegal immigrant deportation using the Modern Slavery Act. NOBODY has a problem with GENUINE refugees. Most illegals are healthy young single men from safe countries. If their situations were so dangerous they'd bring their wives & children but they don't! (1) Take action to prevent illegal attempts to enter UK across the Channel

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about legal action to prevent the deportation of people who do not have a legal right to remain in the UK, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

We understand that you want the UK to withdraw from the Geneva Convention, but it's not clear what changes you want to be made to the Modern Slavery Act.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
