Petition · past parliament
Upgrading the signalling system to prevent so many delays for commuters.

What the petition asks
To work alongside the rail companies to help upgrade the systems in place to make them work effectively so that the trains work regularly to a high standard and reduce delays and cancellations.
The trains from London to Sussex have had continual delays or been cancelled and the reason been given is signalling problems. On top of the strikes, this is making it nearly impossible for people living out of London to do their jobs effectively and is hindering their opportunities. A lot of people cannot afford to live in London but also cannot afford the huge rail fares when they don’t actually provide the service they are meant to.
Why it was rejected
The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.
Network Rail is already investing to replace outdated signalling systems and improve reliability and safety for passengers.
