Make impersonating military personnel a specific criminal offence

What the petition asks
We want the Government to put in place legislation to create a new specific offence of impersonating military personnel in order to deceive and/or defraud for personal gain.
‘Stolen Valour’ is the term commonly applied to individuals wearing military medals or decorations that they have not been awarded, with the intent to deceive or defraud.
This behaviour has a damaging effect on true veterans who 1) may find themselves under unfair/intense scrutiny and 2) cause a backlash against our heroic military personnel veterans & serving members alike.
