Provide food vouchers for disabled children, unable to access their meals.

What the petition asks
We ask the Government to ensure that disabled children who are eligible, but who cannot access their school, still receive their free school meals. This would mean requiring local authorities to put a system in place to provide food vouchers to disabled children who are unable to access their meals.
We want to ensure that disabled children are not substantially disadvantaged and can receive the means tested Free School Meal benefit, the same as their non disabled peers can, and to guarantee that their disability does not get in the way of accessing this support.
According to the Equality Act 2010 and Education Act reasonable adjustments should be made. During the pandemic lockdowns, supermarket vouchers were sent out, proving that there is a practical, discreet and inclusive solution.
