Petition · past parliament
Be able to wear traditional Muslim clothing in high schools during Ramadan
Rejected
18 signatures
What the petition asks
Allow students in Secondary schools to wear traditional Muslim clothing during Ramadan (non uniform)
I feel like it would be a great opportunity for non Muslims to learn about Muslim culture and a way for Muslims to feel more at home and comfortable during Ramadan in school
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about when to allow students to wear particular clothing are a matter for individual schools, not the UK Government or Parliament.
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to stop schools from banning clothing associated with particular religions, if that's something you'd like to happen.
