Stop Halton Borough Council from scrapping free school meals service.

What the petition asks
I would like the government to force Halton Borough Council to do a U Turn on scrapping free school meal services. Potentially give Halton Borough Council increased funding solely for free school meals.
School children are some of our most vulnerable people in society and children should not go without food due to the councils mis management of its finances.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about free school meals, above and beyond national arrangements for free school meals, are a matter for individual local authorities, not the UK Government or Parliament.
You could raise your issue with a local councillor who represents you. You can find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them, by entering your post code here: https://www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors
