What the petition asks
Do not give yourselves increases in pay without proof you are dealing with issues of the UK economy and public sector pay being at an acceptable level
Increases in MPs salaries are not acceptable at this time whilst we have nurses and teachers using foodbanks
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.
