What the petition asks
Make it legal for families to adopt children who have lost their parents and family due to the earthquake in Turkey. Currently there are thousands of babies and children who have lost their parents, the procedures begun in Turkey for adoption however only for people who live in Turkey.
The earthquake that has happened in 10 cities in Turkey has caused a massive disaster in everyone’s lives, especially the babies and children. Many of the babies and children have lost their family and have no one to take care for them. As Turkish citizens living in the UK we should have the right to adopt the babies although we don’t live in Turkey.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
