Scrap MP’s expenses.

What the petition asks
We would like the Members of Parliament to lose the ability to claim expenses, an MP earns £84,000 a year, why do they need expenses when the country is struggling financially without any extra help.
Expenses for travel and subsistence claims cost the taxpayer a total of £2,052,140 in 2020-21, an average of £3,157 for each member of parliament. The total fell by 63.3 per cent during the pandemic, from the £5,584,790 spent in 2019-20. The wage an MP receives is high enough whilst the general public struggle to make ends meet.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
