Abolish the Dart Charge for cars and other light vehicles

What the petition asks
Abolish the £2.50 charge (or £2 if you have an account) for cars and other light vehicles.
In 1999 the government said the Dartford Crossing toll would be free to use by 2003, but backtracked in 2001. The cost of construction was paid off in 2002.
The Severn Crossing abolished tolls years ago, and the Dartford Crossing should be the same.
Especially during the current cost-of-living crisis, we believe the charge is unnecessary and for some families, extortionate.
The charge should remain in place for goods vehicles to help cover maintenance.
