Random drug and alcohol testing for teachers in schools.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

If teachers or parents have suspicions of a colleague or teacher being intoxicated on site that a breathalyser system should be in place and random drugs tests for all teachers should be in place.
Teachers have a duty of care to protect and nurture our precious children.
I feel it is a massive safe guarding issue that needs to be addressed.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Decisions about drug and alcohol testing policies in schools are a matter for individual schools, not the UK Government or Parliament.

If you are concerned about safeguarding in schools in your area you could raise this with a local councillor who represents you. You can find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them, by entering your post code here: https://www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors
