Provide grants to firms with unsatisfied business interruption policy claims

Closed 1,244 signatures

What the petition asks

Many businesses understood they were instructed to close by the Government during 2020 lockdowns and suffered substantial losses as a result. But some insurers are refusing to pay business interruption claims. We want the Government to issue grants to firms with unpaid claims, pending resolution.
The Government instructed many businesses to close during the lockdowns of 2020, and suggested businesses would be able to claim on insurance polices that covered pandemics. However, claims made by many businesses against insurance polices have been refused. We want the Government to issue grants to firms with unpaid business interruption claims, pending final resolution.
