What the petition asks
The Government should add Neurodiversity as a protected characteristic to Section 4 of the Equality Act 2010: protected characteristics.
People are neurodiverse may be protected under the characteristic of disability, and we want neurodiversity to be made a specific protected characteristics.
Neurodiversity is a subsector of Biodiversity that should be considered a protected characteristic.
People's capacity to operate within their environment is dependent on how adapted they are to it and how adaptable that environment is to them.
We want the Government to understand neurodiversity as a relationship between the individual and their environment (social, economic, political, physical, and cultural).
