What the petition asks
Allow private renting tenants the right to own a pet for a better quality of life. Private tenants can no longer be evicted under a section 8 for owning a dog or cat.
Tenants deserve the right to live peacefully and have a quality of life. Private Tenants should be able to treat their home as their own and should not be subjected to homelessness under a section 8 eviction for owning a pet that is cared for. Tenants should have the same rights as homeowners to own a pet to serve a better quality of life and stop further pressure on the local councils for housing due to being made homeless over a pet.
