Increase mobility scooter max speed limit on roads to 15.5mph to equal e-bikes

What the petition asks
The current maximum speed for a mobility scooter is 8mph on the road. We believe this is unfair since e-bikes can be motor assisted up to 15.5mph. Mobility scooters should be given the same speed limit.
We believe 8mph is dangerously slow on de-restricted roads and lanes. I would like the Government to bring the maximum speed up to 15.5mph, even if need be by creating a new type of category. The current law has two classes of mobility scooter in order keep things safe and easy. The Government could create a third class with max speed of 15.5mph in line with e-bikes and e-scooters, and also to bring the max speed in line with many European countries of where the max speed is set to around 15mph.
