Ban import of octopuses bred by intensive farming methods

What the petition asks
There are proposals to build the world's first octopus farm in Las Palmas in Gran Canaria, and we want the Government to ban the import of any octopuses that have been bred by intensive farming methods.
At the proposed farm octopuses will be kept in tanks with other octopuses, contrary to their natural habitat, and studies have shown that the proposed slaughter method in 'ice slurry' causes a slow and stressful death. The WHO has said that this method of killing farmed fish has "been shown to result in poor fish welfare".
