Immediately suspend all UK aid to Uganda

Rejected 16 signatures

What the petition asks

Uganda is a commonwealth country receiving more than £95m in aid annually. The Commonwealth is founded on certain values that include respect to individual rights.
These values are under attack after MPs in Uganda passed a controversial anti-LGBT bill, which would make homosexual acts punishable by death.

The bill introduces capital and life imprisonment sentences for gay sex and “recruitment, promotion and funding” of same-sex “activities”.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

You may wish to sign this petition which calls for a similar action: Stop all foreign aid and sanction Uganda over its anti-LGBT+ legislation
