What the petition asks
We want defra to enforce guidelines to police forces in England & Wales to notify owners of seized dogs if their dog is unwell, needs veterinary treatment, if a dog is dying or died immediately. And no dogs body to be cremated or frozen without an owners consent to allow them to seek a post mortem
Currently there is no guidance from defra to the police on what to do about informing an owner when a dog is sick, needs treatment or has died. And no copies of vet or kennel records given to families. Dog 1 died on 21/11/22 after eating his bed & developed bloat. Owner not told until 6 days later. Dog 2 died over the Christmas period 2022 owner was only notified on 16/01/23
Dog 3 was put to sleep at a vets on 01/03/23 after not responding to medications. Owner was not notified until 07/03/23.

Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about certain arrangements regarding seized dogs, but it's not clear if you just want the Government to update its guidance for enforces on dangerous dogs law, or if you want new legal requirements to be imposed on authorities responsible for enforcing dangerous dogs law.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
