Stop the Old Northeye Prison from being used as a Asylum Seeker Camp

What the petition asks
The Government need to change their plans on turning the Old Northeye Prison is Bexhill into a Centre for Asylum Seekers. The Government have stated that they propose to hold 1200 Adult Male Asylum Seekers in the new centre by December 2023.
This is an area where there are many children and families who would be worried about 1200 men being right on their doorstep. The children play along the private road and disused car park and families will feel uncomfortable letting their children play outside and will take away the enjoyment to be outside.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We cannot accept petitions about operational matters, which includes decisions about what specific government facilities to use to accommodate asylum seekers.
We could accept a petition calling on the Government not to house asylum seekers in certain types of accommodation, if that's something you'd like to happen.
