Extend 30 hours free childcare to healthcare students

What the petition asks
To help those wanting to become a midwife/nurse or other health professional. Throughout university these courses are usually 5 days per week plus placements. Without childcare many students are struggling to continue with their degree.
Currently student finance only help those with childcare costs if the household income is less than £19,549.80 (if applying for one child), or £27958.20 (if applying for two or more children), which are very low thresholds.
The costs of childcare on top of studying the degree of your choice can make it impossible to pursue a profession in healthcare. With the help of 30 hours free childcare for healthcare students this will enable more to study and help those currently studying without having to struggle to get by.
