What the petition asks
The UK government is proposing to use the old prison called Northeye to house up to 1200 immigrants!!
This area is unsuitable due to it being in a residential area, and also Bexhill on Sea is a seaside resort and small town and this sort of development is not in keeping with the area.

Although it was a cat C prison in the past it has been closed in 1992, and a riot took place in 1986 where 40% of the prison was destroyed. which would be a worry if the immigrants were to riot and with the possibility of escape making the town unsafe, like has happened at other centres!!
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We cannot accept petitions about operational matters, which includes decisions about what specific government facilities to use to accommodate asylum seekers.
We could accept a petition calling on the Government not to house asylum seekers in certain types of accommodation, if that's something you'd like to happen.
