Introduce 'Deutschland-Ticket'-style monthly public transport ticket for £40-45

What the petition asks
Work with transport operators and devolved administrations, and provide funding to introduce a monthly ticket for £40-45 for all local public transport, to make this more affordable and encourage people to use public transport than using car.
Germany has recently introduced a €49 monthly ‘Deutschland-Ticket’ covering all local transport.
Introducing the same scheme here should encourage more people to use public transport, helping to reduce carbon emission, achieve Net Zero target and help reduce demand on fuel by reducing the number of vehicles on road. Having fewer vehicles on road would help to reduce traffic on road and could increase the average speed of buses. This should help to attract more car users to switch to public transport. Working with the devolved administrations to make it valid throughout UK on all local public transport should make it more attractive to people.
