Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you're concerned about congestion around Hawkinge/Folkestone, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for. Decisions about local roads are a matter for the relevant local authority, not the UK Government or Parliament. National Highways is responsible for the national road network, including the A20, so we could accept a petition calling on the Government to fund improvements to that road, if that's something you want to happen.
