Remove the Two-Child Limit on Child Tax Credit and Universal Credit Benefits
Closed
92 signatures
What the petition asks
Revoke the 6th April 2017 amendment to Child Tax Credit and Universal Credit which limits benefits to two children per family.
In a wealthy country in the 21st century, no one should be in poverty, let alone children.
The Government's two-child limit on benefits has helped push over 350,000 children into poverty last year alone.
In the middle of the worst cost of living crisis in decades, an estimated 1.5 million children will be affected this year.
This is simply unacceptable.
In a just society, there should be no need for a petition to protect children.
The two-child restriction should be reversed immediately.
