Hold a referendum on the monarchy when the current monarch's reign ends
Closed
139 signatures
What the petition asks
Upon King Charles ceasing to be king, a referendum to be held as to whether the monarchy is to be retained or abolished. No incumbent to the throne should become monarch until continuance of the monarchy is approved by the public in a referendum.
Reasoning: Because when the reign of HRH Queen Elizabeth II ended, Prince Charles was immediately announced as King. No opportunity was offered to the public to decide whether or not the monarchy should be continued or abolished. The public should be given a say.
