Require trigger warnings on books containing violent content

What the petition asks
We believe literature that contains violent content should be required to have trigger warnings. This is particularly important for literature present in educational settings. We want the Government to make trigger warnings a requirement for all books containing violent content.
This time last year I read a book that contained violent and distressing content. If there had been a trigger warning on the cover, I think I wouldn’t have read it, to protect myself from the effect of reading the violent content.
Reading books containing violent content can be triggering for victims of violence, including domestic abuse and sexual assault. Survivors deserve to know whether a book contains content of this type before they open it.
