Bring the 1939 Cancer Act up to date

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

The current cancer act is extremely out of date and excludes many treatments that help & support cancer patients through their cancer journey.

Whilst I admit there needs to be an act in place to protect vulnerable people from charlatans there also needs to be better access to natural treatments.
As someone with metastatic breast cancer, I have chosen to address the disease with a more natural approach rather than a chemical approach.

There are some aspects of my treatment that have been used to treat cancer successfully for over 100 years, are available in Scotland & are standard practice in Germany.

When treating cancer it is important to boost the immune system, improve gut health, address an individual’s emotional state, & follow and clean diet - none of these issues are addressed.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

It's not clear what changes you want to be made to the Cancer Act 1939. Decisions about treatment offered to NHS patients are a matter for the NHS and individual clinicians, and not the UK Government or Parliament.
