What the petition asks

Provide an annual statement of pension benefits as a matter of course, not only on request.
Provide all employees with advice and guidance that’s easily accessible and accurate and inform of changes to the scheme.

Currently many NHS employees are forced to make retirement decisions without knowledge of their benefits. Online portals providing statements are not available to all staff and in any case are often 18 months in arrears. The current system is unfair and risky. NHS staff deserve to be well informed about their pension benefits and the Department of Health should do more to ensure this happens.
