Stop landlords refusing potential tenants because they claim benefits

What the petition asks
Too many landlords are refusing to let properties to tenants who are claiming benefits, or are not in full-time work. This can prevent vulnerable men, women and their families from accessing appropriate accommodation, and should not be allowed.
Local authorities are unable to house everyone in need, and waiting lists for accommodation can be extremely long, so many benefit claimants have to find privately rented accommodation, but can struggle to find a landlord willing to rent to a benefit claimant.
The Government must stop landlords from being able to refuse potential tenants because they claim benefits.
