What the petition asks

Make it law that the process of dna parentage is taken along side the processes already in place during the heel prick by medical staff.

A woman knows for sure she is the parent of the child. The father does not and has to rely on the mothers word that the child is his.
This position has been abused many times with false information stating that the man is the biological parent. This is wrong and detrimental to the child if wrong later in the childs life.
It would also aid the government in collecting maintenance from biological parents that deny their connections with the said children.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
