What the petition asks
I request that the government refuse the planning permission granted by the defunct Richmondshire District Council (now North Yorkshire Council as of 1st April 2023), ref. 19/00473/FULL., for a Motorway Service Area proposed and to be constructed by the Roadchef Company close to Catterick Village.
It should be refused on the basis that this unwanted MSA (Motorway Service Area) would destroy an important wildlife environment, used by migrating wildfowl and indigenous wildlife.
In addition to this, local villagers' lifestyle will be badly affected by increased crime, rubbish, anti-social behaviour, noise, and light pollution, if the MSA is built. There is a Moto alternative at two nearby MSA's, which would negate the need for this development and result in zero impact on the environment.

Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Local planning decisions are a matter for the relevant local authority, not the UK Government or Parliament.
