Petition · past parliament
All local medical centres should be obliged to have GPs of both sexes available.

What the petition asks
Make the provision of both male and female GPS a legal requirement at all surgeries.
I recently had a cancer scare relating to my genitalia. I had to go privately to get this checked out as my GP is a woman who recently replaced my longstanding male doctor. The practice has no male GPS on its books at all.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about who to have on staff at a medical centre are an operational matter for individual GPs, not the UK Government or Parliament.
